Lake Village Morning Yoga Classes

"Lake Village Morning Yoga" summer classes will be taught by Stephanie Artz from 9:00-10:30 AM on the following dates:
Thursday-May 1, Tuesday-May 6, Thursday-May 8, Tuesday-May 13, Thursday-May 15 and Tuesday-May 20. June dates are Thursday-June 5, Tuesday-June 10, Thursday-June 12 and Tuesday-June 17

Stephanie also does a type of massage work called Trager, which is
neuro-muscular re-education. All classes are held at Stephanie's yoga studio located at 415 Stuart Island Road. Suggested donation is $12.00

Delta Artists Association Exhibit

Guachoya Cultural Art Center will have an exhibit by members of the Delta Artists Association from May 2 until June 27. A reception will be held on Thursday, May 8th, from 6 till 7 p.m. The public is invited and there is no admission charge.

Delta Artists Association was founded in 2002 for the purpose of supporting and promoting visual arts in the Greenville area through exhibits, sales, education and sharing information. Current membership is approximately 75 members. A web site for DAA is being created by Kathy Day and will be up soon. Art work may be purchased through the site.

The following artist have committed to exhibit: Elinor Street, June Hammond, Melanie Tucker, Wayne Frazier, Monty McGee, Helen Tims,Wanda Towery, Iris Mitchell, Ruth Vowell, Noel Harris, Elizabeth Barenis, Kathy Day and Vera Pesaresi.

The Art Center is located at 1652 Hwy. 65 & 82 in Lake Village. Hours of operation are Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. till 4 p.m.

"Lakeport Lives On" Documentary Broadcast

"Lakeport Lives On," a documentary shot during the grand opening of Lakeport Plantation, an Arkansas State University Heritage Site, will air at 6:30 p.m. on AETN, the Arkansas PBS station. The half-hour program focuses on the Plantation's history, and features Lakeport and Lake Village residents and the Lakeport restoration team. Tune it - it's terrific!

Free Concert on the Lake Chicot!!

For all of you who choose to forsake the mudpuppy festival, hop on your party barges or bring the family, the family dog and the kids to the beautiful shores of Lake Chicot for a free concert at the Jack Rhodes Amphitheatre from 3 to 6 p.m.

Featuring the L.A. Codgers, Stiffler's Mom, The Mudflaps and the Andrew Breedlove Group, there's music to please everyone!
And there's plenty of good eats, too! The Chamber's award-winning chefs will be cooking up Italian sausage heros with grilled peppers, onions and melted Provolone! Or get your smoked turkey legs and hot dogs and who knows what else? It's all good! So come on already!

Calling all Classmates of Lakeside Class of 1988! There will be a 20th Year Class Reunion in Lake Village, Arkansas on May 23 and 24. Cost is $60/classmate. Our fundraiser is to sell Lakeside ALUMNI T-shirts. They are only $15 and profits from t-shirt sales will go towards a scholarship to be awarded to a 2008 Lakeside graduate. Chamber Annual Awards Banquet

The Chamber's Annual Awards Banquet, "A Plantation Picnic," will be held on Thursday, June 12th at Lakeport Plantation. Tours of this magnificent and historic site will be available from 5 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. The Awards Banquet will begin at 6 p.m. This year's event will feature a catered Catfish dinner with all the fixings in a relaxed picnic atmosphere and the announcements of the Business and Man and Woman of the Year awards. 99th Annual Spaghetti Dinner

First...you make-ah da meatball! And that means it's time for the Ladies Altar Society's 99th Annual Spaghetti Dinner! Serving up homemade spaghetti, meatballs, Italian bread, salad and heavenly dessert is a time-honored tradition for the Society.

This year's dinner at St. Mary's Parish Hall is between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Carry outs are available from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. (bring your own container or purchase one for $.50). Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for kids and are available now or at the door. Buon Appetito!!
